Hazards and risks to health and safety will be eliminated or minimised, as far as is reasonably practicable.
All employees and partners of M&A complete rigorous job related training, reinforcing the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to complete their job functions. M&A meets or exceeds all laws and regulations at every level of operation, and reminds every employee and affiliate of M&A, that they have the right and responsibility to stop any unsafe work activity. At M&A, safety is more than a requirement; it is a responsibility we all share. To continue strengthening our safety culture, we are excited to introduce our M&A Approach to Safety Program. This program is designed to recognize employees who take proactive steps to identify hazards, prevent incidents, suggest safety improvements, and help create a safer workplace for everyone. Effective immediately, all employees are encouraged to submit the Approach To Safety Forms when they observe or participate in positive safety actions, including:
People Leaders play a vital role in fostering a strong safety culture by encouraging participation, recognizing safe behaviors, and ensuring safety observations are submitted consistently. To promote engagement across all M&A locations, each site or job location will compete in a monthly Safety Challenge. The site or location with the highest number of qualified Approach To Safety Form submissions each month will receive a team prize and be recognized for their outstanding commitment to workplace safety. This friendly competition is designed to celebrate teams that actively identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and make safety a daily priority.
Our goal is simple: recognize the employees who go above and beyond to keep themselves, their coworkers, and our worksites safe. Safety is everyone's responsibility, and every observation matters.
